I’m a professor and research leader working at the intersection of Explainable AI, Medical Imaging (Brain MRI), Digital Health Twins, and Smart Forestry. My work bridges rigorous methods and real-world deployment—turning models into reliable, auditable systems that clinicians, engineers, and decision-makers can actually use. Over the past years I’ve led and contributed to EU-level consortia, supervised doctoral research, and served on editorial boards and program committees. I enjoy transforming complex ideas (transformers, SSMs/Mamba, differentiable rendering, causal graphs) into well-documented, reproducible pipelines with a strong emphasis on evaluation, calibration, and explainability. I’m equally passionate about education and mentorship, building the next generation of scientists and ethical practitioners.
