ReinSaat is a pioneering organic breeding company with 27 years of expertise in breeding open-pollinated vegetable, herb & flower seeds. We develop open pollinated organic vegetable, herbs & flowers seeds tailored for sustainable, climate-resilient agriculture and food systems.
With a portfolio of over 850 varieties, ReinSaat actively contributes to safeguarding agrobiodiversity and strengthening seed sovereignty across Europe. Our varieties are GMO-free, reproducible and adapted to diverse and challenging climatic conditions.
Located in Austria, ReinSaat operates a 30-hectare biodynamic farm including greenhouse facilities, employs around 50 staff from 10 countries, and covers the entire value chain – from breeding and cultivation to seed production, processing, quality testing and global distribution. Modern infrastructure includes advanced seed processing systems and laboratory facilities for testing germination capacity and seed vigour, ensuring highest quality standards.
A key strength is our international propagation network (60 companies, 9 countries) supporting seed production through longstanding partnerships, enabling scalable, high-quality seed multiplication and strong European collaboration structures.
ReinSaat’s excellence has been recognized at EU level – founder Reinhild Frech-Emmelmann was awarded EU Award Best Organic Farmer, underlining our leadership in sustainable agriculture and biodiversity.
