UNFOLDING THE FUTURE WITH ELECTRONICS-BASED SYSTEMS Electronics-based systems (EBS) are components, assemblies and devices with microelectronics, nanoelectronics and embedded software. They are the technological backbone of digitization. With the research areas Sensor Systems, Intelligent Wireless Systems, Power Electronics and Embedded Systems, SAL offers "Key Enabling Technologies" precisely for these electronics-based systems and lays the foundation for intelligent products and processes that lay the groundwork for topics such as Industry 4.0, Internet of Things (IOT), autonomous driving, cyber-physical systems (CPS), AI, Smart City, Smart Energy or Smart Health. Research is conducted at both model and hardware level (components, assemblies and devices with micro- and nanoelectronics) as well as at the associated embedded software level, combined with the holistic knowledge of comprehensive system integration.
