Jakob Detering is an impact entrepreneur and Managing Director of Impact Hub Vienna, a leading hub for entrepreneurship and innovation. He is responsible for strategy, growth, business development, and collaboration with partners from the private sector, public institutions, and civil society. Impact Hub Vienna includes the Impact Hub, the Climate Lab, the Future Health Lab, and the Education Lab, all working on systemic solutions at the intersection of innovation, sustainability, health, and education.
Previously, Jakob led the international expansion of the Social Impact Award and helped build one of the world’s largest networks of young social entrepreneurs — engaging around 10,000 participants annually and supporting more than 1,000 social enterprises across over 25 countries. His work is grounded in many years of experience in philanthropy and social business, including serving as Managing Director of a social enterprise in Romania and supporting the strategic development of social enterprises in Austria and across Europe.
