The Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology (acib) is an international competence centre specialising on bridging the gap between academic and industrial research. With approximately 160 of our own employees and expertise from our scientific partners (BOKU Vienna, TU Graz, University of Graz, University of Innsbruck) acib offers a multi-disciplinary team of experts in the fields of biocatalysis, enzyme technology, protein engineering, (bio)polymers, metabolic modelling, bioprocess engineering, synthetic biology and cell engineering. acib is located in Austria and has labs in Vienna, Graz, Tulln, and Innsbruck. The interdisciplinary team is working together with various company and scientific partners on new methods for a better application of biotechnology for industrial purposes. acib coordinates/d and participates/d successfully in several EU projects and is experienced in coordinating and operating international, big project consortia. Since 2018, acib also provides a dedicated team for the dissemination and communication of results in order to ensure an efficient outreach of acib’s research performances. The team consists of a science communicator, a graphic designer, an event manager and a press officer.
